The Foulles collective has existed since 2018. There have been affinities, friendships, jokes, a meeting. The desire to dance together, to share music, images and texts, to circulate a host of things, with a crowd of people. What followed was a major investigation into how we reappropriate time and a culture that can both dominate us and affect us. They collect objects then investigate using collages. The subjects can be the gargantuan festivals of the Middle Ages, the opera, the breakdance battles, their voices. They rework them, pay homage to them, make them understand. Things overlap, coexist, merge, become a package. It is a very precise handling, very respectful, but also celebratory and generous. It is the desire to move away from history lessons, to re-open the relationships between present and past, to revive, to feel the layers of time. Do it together, and defend this postulate. Being able to trust oneself, to mingle, to detach oneself from others and from the idea of ownership. Tend threads of discussion, tensions, maintain complexity. Crossing time with the joy of a battalion.
